OK, guys.  Sorry it has taken so long for us to post!  It has been a crazy time over here.  We have been dealing the finals, long working hours, fun with friends and family and all kinds of other things.  Plus our camera broke!  =(  Yes we are very sad about that.  This is another reason we have not posted anything.  I didn’t want to post a big long post with no pictures!  Furthermore, we have been getting a lot of complaints from friends, family etc. that when you look at this blog it is hard to tell it is even ours because there are no pictures of us.  So I decided to make sure there is no mistaking our blog anymore.  In case anyone is wondering this is the blog of Rebekah Griffin and Jonathan Griffin.
As far as what we have been doing over the last two months.  Here’s the story.  About a month ago we took our awesome nephew Reese and our niece Holly to Schnepf farms.  It was a lot of fun.  We slid down a huge slide, swung on a big swing ride, explored a corn maze and rode some carts around a twisty coarse.  It was for my nephew’s birthday.  Unfortunately his birthday party fell on the night of my class so we decided to take him and his sister out so we could celebrate his birthday regardless.  After our fun night at Schnepf farms we took Reese to our friend’s house and had some ice cream and cookies.  They were pretty good.  Holly and Reese were fast asleep by the time we got home.  I think we wore them out.  =)  A week or so later we celebrated Halloween by sitting at our house and passing out candy.  We had quite a few little trick or treaters.

About a month later we celebrated Thanksgiving with Jonathan’s family and some of our friends.  Around noon we found ourselves at Jonathan Grandma Kempton’s house.  We were surrounded by what seemed to be a million Kempton’s and lots of fun.  What’s crazy is it ended up only being about half of that side of his family.  That doesn’t even count the Griffin side!  We had a lot of fun.  The Griffin’s were actually the last ones there!  For any of you who don’t know the Griffin’s very well, we are always amongst the first to leave so that was pretty cool!  I think we have been missing each other so we took the time when we had the chance.  What’s even more fun is I got to bake bread from scratch for the very first time.  It didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked, but hey, not bad for making it without a bread maker or pre-made dough.  After dinner with Jonathan’s family we went to our friend’s parents house.  I have mentioned them a few times in this blog.  Anthony and Tami are as much like family as our actual family so it was nice to spend the holiday with them as well.  We had a really nice Thanksgiving dinner and watched a movie.  It made for a very turkey filled fun day.  I can’t believe how much we ate!!!

A few weeks after that we had our nieces Savannah and Jill over.  We had a little slumber party and had hot chocolate and watched a movie.  I can’t believe how awesome these kids are!  They both were so helpful and we had a blast.  I thought maybe we should keep them forever.  During the movie I got up to switch the laundry from the washer to the dryer and not long after I got up, Jill got up after me and was by my side asking if I needed help with the laundry!  They are all like that!  The next morning we went to church and then came home for our Sunday naps.  Not long after, we had to take the girls home.  We were all sad the time passed so quickly.  We are going to have to do that again.  =) A few weeks later our friends Paul and Robyn were in town from North Carolina.  We were so excited to be able to go to dinner with them on one of the nights they were in town.  They have a lot of family and friends here so we were really happy to get some of their time.  We went down to Mill and ate at an Irish Pub and ended up meeting the most interesting hobo we have ever met.  He made very colorful balloon animals and wrote us a song.  He thought it was funny that a group of people would go to an Irish Pub and not drink any alcohol.  Once he found out we were Mormon he understood but then made up the most hilarious song about a group of Mormons walking into a Pub and all they ordered was water.  I wish I remembered the words because they were hilarious.  Our faces hurt by the end of the night because we were smiling and laughing so hard!  I am so glad we got to spend that time with Paul and Robyn and hope it won’t be long until they come back to visit or better yet, move back!

Whew, finally getting caught up.  So our anniversary was this last week.  (Dec 17th)  Jonathan wasn’t able to get off work but I was, so we spent the day at the job site in Marana.  I had a lot of fun watching them work the drill rig and fix some mechanical issues.  We had lunch at McDonald’s and enjoyed a lot of time in the car between the job site and home.  Marana is a 2 hour drive from where we live.  We also spent a little time at his Office and then came home.  We got a little Chinese for dinner and then called it an early night.  We woke up at 4 in the morning for Jonathan to be at his job site on time so we were really tired.

Oh, and some more news is that my little bro Michael left on his mission.  He has been gone about a week and a half and he seems to be having a blast.  It is snowing like crazy in Utah and I know the mountains must be covered in snow as well so he is in heaven right now.  I am so proud of him!  He is such a good kid and I know he is going to do so well!

In most recent news we are now the proud owners of 2 little chicks.  I think there are 2 more on their way.  Yeah you read that right.  Chicks, soon to be chickens.  I know, the average couple usually gets a dog or a cat when they want something to take care of, but aren’t ready for kids yet.  Well we went for the chickens.  We figured it would be nice to not have to pay for eggs for a while.  Talk about a unique way of keeping our food storage.  They are cute little things, but they sure do smell bad and they are a mess.  Today when I went up to check on them I found chicken poop mixed all in their water.  It was so gross!  We will try to enjoy them while they are still cute though!

We can thank our friends Anthony and Tami for these little guys.  They found them at a Uhaul of all places.  Apparently the Uhaul also sells chickens.  Who knew?

Well guys I think that is it for now.  We are getting excited about all the fun that is coming up for Christmas and New Year’s and are gearing up for spring semester to start up at the end of January.  I promise I will try to post again sooner than I did this last time and I hope those who were not sure if this was our website are now satisfied with the pictures of us!  =)

About

    Jonathan and Rebekah Griffin

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else." ~Theodore Roosevelt
