San Francisco and a Wedding!

A week or so after my family came into town we were able to go to San Francisco to see our friend Tristan get married.  It was great to meet his beautiful wife as well!  Tristan, you did well!  =)  It was a beautiful sealing and a really great reception.  And for the record they actually were married in Oakland, but San Francisco is just a short drive away so we took the opportunity to check out the city while we were there.  We also got some great pictures during our drive from the San Fran area.  First, here are some pictures around the temple:

Oakland TempleThis of course is the beautiful temple!  The grounds were just gorgeous!  I loved the flowers!

Me in front of the templeI thought I would post this so that everyone who thinks we don’t put enough pictures of us up are satisfied.  =)

white flowersI am finding that for some reason I like to take pictures of flowers.  I must get this from my Grandma.  She loves flowers and while she was on her mission, she sent me a good number of pictures of the beautiful flowers around the temple.

I really like the tulips they had there as well!

Tulips at Oakland TempleOk, so after we took these pictures we went to the sealing, which again was a sweet sealing.  I am so happy we were able to be a part of that!  Afterwards we went to San Fran and got some touristy things done.  First we went to China Town and shopped around at the different stores.  We got some great snacks and some souvenirs.  Here are a few pictures of Jonathan and I finding things at the market.

We ate lunch and had these tasty bao buns.  They had a sweet pork on the inside.  I am pretty sure that is all we ate while there.  We brought some home and ate them for a few days after that as well.  I am going to have to figure out how to make them at home!

After that we drove down the curviest street.

picture-164On our way home we went through the most beautiful area.  Jonathan and I were about to park the car and build a cabin.  I will only put one picture of this seeing as how this post is already super long.

We ended up with a ton of pictures of this area because of how green and beautiful it was.  Maybe Seattle has some competition on where the Griffin’s will retire.  =)  Well that in a nutshell was out trip to San Francisco and our first visit to the Oakland Temple.  Congratulations again guys!

Just have to add that I, too, believe California is beautiful. But it is not a good place to live in these economic and turbulent times. Texas, on the other hand, is a great place! Hint Hint! Love you muchly!
